The Grace Aguilar Project
Bringing an extraordinary woman back into awareness
Grace Aguilar (1816–1847) was an English Jewish writer and thinker of Sephardic descent who worked for education, Jewish identity and the voices of women.
When I discovered her writings, I found a rich world of thought and creativity, and above all a woman ahead of her time, asking questions that still concern us.
Since then I have worked to make her legacy accessible through research, books and lectures, so that new generations of readers in Israel and around the world can come to know her work.
